About this event
Hatha yoga is a slow paced style with static hold poses. It is a discipline that can be a good start for beginners or anyone wanting to explore traditional poses more deeply. A hatha yoga session may be what you immediately picture when someone says “yoga class.” You will practice a variety of standing and seated poses such as Warrior, Cobra and Mountain. Expect to maintain each yoga pose for several Breaths to allow yourself to fully relax into it. Props such as blocks and straps can help you achieve a position or modify it if you have physical issues such as arthritis. A teacher might offer hands-on help to guide you in achieving a pose. A session may focus on breath work as well. Expect to feel relaxed, stretched and rejuvenated after a Hatha class! The ability to get up and down off your mat with ease is recommended.
